Look, it’s already the 35th anniversary of its release! New Collection Announced for Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” Movie

Walt Disney Japan has unveiled a new collection, “Disney THE LITTLE MERMAID 35th,” to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the release of the Disney film “The Little Mermaid. The new items will be available at Disney Stores from July 16. The official Disney online store and some Disney Store stores will pre-sell the items on July 9.

This collection features original artwork with a soft, antique-style watercolor touch, inspired by the world of the sea. Ariel, Flander, Sebastian, Prince Eric, Ariel’s sister, Eartha, and a large collection of characters! The lineup is also a rich assortment befitting the anniversary.

The T-shirts (4,500 yen) with back prints look great in photographs, and the scarf-style tote bag (3,900 yen) is a great way to make a statement while out and about. The folding umbrella (3,500 yen) can be used both in sunny and rainy weather, even in summer when the weather is changeable. The inside of the umbrella has an all-over pattern, so you can see Ariel and her friends every time you open it.

Many items for relaxing summer time at home are also available. The jigsaw puzzle (3,300 yen) has 500 pieces. After completion, they can be displayed and enjoyed. The “Secret Drawstring” (700 yen each), which can be used to put small items together, comes in seven types. In addition to Ariel and her friends, Flotsam & Jetsam, the six Ariels, and King Triton are also available.

There is also a “hand mirror” (2,300 yen) to dress up like Ariel, a pouch (2,400 yen) just the right size for storing cosmetics, and a cute “multi-pochette” (3,800 yen).

The lineup also includes “figurines” (22,000 yen) with different designs on the front and back. The company also carries “cookies in a can” (1,600 yen), which you can pick up as a souvenir when you return home.
