Liberta Gakusha is accepting entries for its RPG-type running event “Bandit Wild Run & Flame Party in Tamba Sasayama,” to be held on September 28-29, through September 20 on Runnet.
In this event, groups of four run a half-marathon (approximately 26 km) and complete missions as bandits.
On the 28th, a “Flame Banquet” will be held. Visitors can enjoy chopping firewood, food from the kitchen car, craft beer, and mingling with the locals. It also includes curry and a bottle of local sake or a soft drink as a bandit meal, and is available for advance tickets (1,100 yen).
The mission for the 29th run will begin with cutting down an abandoned bamboo forest in the “Bandit Forest” to create a path out to the village. From there, 10 types of missions are prepared, including finding points on a “treasure map” of local elementary school students, thinning the mountain, hauling logs, and harvesting crops in the field.
The winning team will be determined by the time to the finish line, the weight carried at the finish line, and the overall fashion score.
The overall winning team will receive a “Houmei” and 20 kg of rice. They will also receive farm products obtained during the run (expected to be peanuts), 1 kg of rice, and a Sanzoku no Mori membership card as a prize for finishing the race.
The starting point is the Yamamori Circuit Campsite (41-1 Ishindo, Tamba-Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture), and the entry fee is 8,800 yen per person. The fee for Tamba Sasayama citizens is 8,800 yen.
