The Metropolitan Expressway announced its traffic congestion forecast for August, including the Bon Festival period (August 10-16).
While weekdays before the Bon Festival (1st, 2nd, and 5th through 9th) will be congested due to the concentration of business traffic, traffic congestion is expected to be relatively low during the Bon Festival period. Traffic congestion is expected to increase again toward the end of the month on Fridays after the end of the Bon Festival.
Since August is one of the busiest months of the year and heavy traffic congestion can be expected, especially at the Kawasaki Ukishima JCT, we recommend using the Airport West Exit on the No. 1 Haneda Line when traveling from the Tokyo area to Haneda Airport.
In addition, traffic congestion at exits around recreational spots may start earlier than usual, and traffic congestion in the NEXCO downstream direction may extend to the Metropolitan Expressway.
The company encourages passengers to avoid congestion by changing the days and times of use, and to check the latest traffic conditions before departure, including the “mew-ti” road traffic information application.
