The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Yen Loan Agreement (L/A) with the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia on July 19 in Phnom Penh for the “National Highway No. 5 Rehabilitation Project (Sreama Am – Battambang and Sisopong – Poipet) (Phase III)”. A Loan Agreement (L/A) was signed for the “Sreamaam – Battambang and Sisopon – Poipet (Phase III)” project. The outline of the project is as follows

Business Objectives
This project aims to improve and widen the existing road between Sreeramaam and Battambang and between Sisopon and Poipet on National Highway No. 5, which connects the capital Phnom Penh and the Thai border, as well as to build a bypass, thereby enhancing the transportation capacity of this road and facilitating logistics between Thailand and Cambodia, thereby contributing to the promotion of Cambodia’s economic development.
