Everyone thinks, “I’m in Hawaii, I want to eat at a restaurant with a view of the blue sky and the cobalt blue ocean.” But it’s going to cost a certain amount of money. …… If so, I recommend the restaurant on the top floor of this hotel, which boasts an oceanfront location. Lunch menus start in the $10 range. It is a restaurant with a view, and no matter where you sit, you are guaranteed a spectacular view.
Since its opening in 1964, the Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites has been a favorite of travelers from around the world. Located between Waikiki and Ala Moana Center, in front of the yacht harbor, the Mediterranean dining restaurant “Pesca Waikiki Beach” opened in 2021 on the top floor of this hotel.
This is what the view looks like when you take the glass-walled private elevator and go up all the way to the 30th floor above ground from there. Ala Moana Beach, Magic Island, the yacht harbor, and beyond that, the horizon that reminds us of the roundness of the earth and the bright blue sky.
When you step out of the elevator, you are greeted with a “Welcome. The large space has counter and table seating, as well as a huge wine cellar.
And in one corner, fresh fish adorn the ice. Seasonal seafood flown in from all over the world, including the Mediterranean, Hawaii, and Japan, can be ordered by weight and cooked to your liking. But this time, we were looking for lunch.
The food is a feast, of course, but the best feast here is the view. The circular restaurant offers a 360-degree view of the city.
There are seats with views of the ocean, mountains, and Honolulu cityscape, and this time we were seated with a view of the ocean and Diamond Head.
As mentioned above, enjoying a seafood extravaganza is a wonderful experience, but for a quality meal at a reasonable price, lunch is the only way to go. and fish tacos for $18. On this particular day, I ordered the 1777 Meatloaf ($18) and the Roasted Shrimp Cold Pasta Salad ($20).
The meatloaf has a roasted garlic sauce and meat flavors that work very well together. With mashed potatoes and spinach on the bottom, this dish was well-balanced and quite hearty. The cold pasta salad was a quality dish with jumbo shrimp baked to order and feta cheese from an Oahu farm.
Other lunch menu items include appetizers (from $12) and salads (from $12). Loco Moco ($24), and more. In addition, a prix fixe lunch consisting of salad, fish chowder, fish of the day, and dessert is priced at $38, which is reasonable for a top-floor hotel restaurant. Lunch hours are until 3:00 p.m., making it a relatively relaxing experience.
Another great deal is the restaurant’s overly long happy hour. Called “All-Day Happy Hour,” it runs from 11am to 10pm (LO). One dish such as jumbo shrimp, raw oysters, or falafel is in the $10 range. Cocktails and wine are also under $10. You can visit and have a drink at any time of the day, whether it is the blue ocean during the day or at sunset. But counter seating only (you can see the ocean!). The restaurant is located in the heart of the city, in the heart of the city.
It is rare to find a place where you can look down on Diamond Head and the ocean from this height, but this restaurant is surprisingly unknown. The service, food, and panoramic view that can only be found in a hotel restaurant can be enjoyed to your heart’s content, making it an exceptional experience and one that you will remember for a long time.
Incidentally, this restaurant also has a chapel with a spectacular view on one floor below, and private rooms are also available so that you can enjoy the wedding ceremony and dinner.
