Oedo Onsen Monogatari Hotels & Resorts renovated the “Oedo Onsen Monogatari Kinugawa Kanko Hotel” with new restaurants, guest rooms, and large baths, and opened it as the “Oedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Kinugawa Kanko Hotel” (359-2 Kinugawa Onsen Taki, Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture) on July 22.
The restaurant was redesigned under the theme of “Rough Waves of the Mountain Stream” and renamed IWATO. The live kitchen has been redesigned without changing its design, and the restaurant is currently holding a “Summer Luxury Buffet” until August 31. The menu includes classic southern Italian dishes such as “Sicilian oven-baked white fish” and “Western-style Uzaku,” as well as Häagen-Dazs ice cream for dessert.
Thirty-five guest rooms were renovated into modern Japanese-style rooms. The rooms are furnished with beds in the tatami room where guests take off their shoes, and a large sofa in the living room space. The walls and fabrics of the rooms facing the Kinugawa River valley are blue, while the mountain side is green.
Renovated the indoor baths in two of the ten bathtubs, including the private baths. The walls, ceilings, and floors were replaced, and partitions were installed in the washing areas. In addition, the half-open-air baths in the “Kirifuri no Yu” baths were changed to make it easier to see the greenery of the valley.
In addition, a new premium lounge with the theme of a “nature-rich forest” has been established. The lounge, available only to hotel guests, offers soft drinks, popsicles, draft beer, wine, and other alcohol, and can be used anytime during business hours, including upon arrival, after a hot bath, and after dinner.
The hotel has a total of 172 rooms and features a table tennis corner, karaoke room, and game corner. Room rates start at 18,900 yen per person for two persons per room.
