JR Kyushu will release “License Return Odekake Ticket,” which allows unlimited rides on local and rapid trains within a set section in the Fukuoka and Kitakyushu areas for one month, for those 65 years old or older who have voluntarily returned their driver’s license.
The ticket can be purchased at the Midori-no-madoguchi counter in JR Kitakyushu, but a “driving record certificate” is required to purchase the ticket, and a “personal identification card” distributed after purchase must be carried with the ticket holder when using the ticket. For limited express trains on conventional lines, a separate limited express ticket can be purchased.
