Sagami Railway and Tokyu Corporation will begin a verification experiment of the “Carry Park Service,” a temporary storage service for carry-on luggage, in the waiting room of Shin-Yokohama Station on August 1. The waiting room for this service is the “Shin-Yoko Gateway Spot” located outside the south ticket gates of Shin-Yokohama Station on the Sotetsu and Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Lines.
This service is designed to solve issues such as the lack of storage space for carry-on cases in the Shin-Yokohama Station area and the limited size of carry-on cases that can be checked in at the station’s coin lockers.
When checking in a carry-on case, the handle of the carry-on case is locked to a special locking device. Locking and unlocking the handle of the carry-on case can be done via a dedicated smartphone application. The dedicated application supports multiple languages and cashless payment, and allows users to check the availability of storage locations.
