Shibaura Institute of Technology, Yamanashi Tourism Promotion Organization, Yatsugatake Tourism Management, Fujikyu, NEXCO Central Japan, and others will conduct a demonstration experiment until March 31, 2028, to distribute tourism demand on the Chuo Expressway over time and space by transmitting tourism information and expressway traffic jam information.
Tourist information such as sightseeing facilities and stores, as well as AI traffic jam forecast information provided by the “Chuo Road Traffic Jam Reduction Team” will be provided through the “Swissy Travel Yamanashi Version” application developed by the Shibaura Institute of Technology.
When travelers use “Swissy Travel Yamanashi Version” to search routes, they can view traffic jam forecast information. When a traffic jam is predicted, coupons are distributed within the application, allowing travelers to enjoy savings while killing time at facilities and stores until the traffic jam eases.
NEXCO Central Japan and others will use this demonstration experiment to reduce traffic congestion on the Chuo Expressway, while converting lost time due to traffic congestion into “consumption time” for travelers. The group also plans to promote discovery-based sightseeing through “unexpected stopovers” to attract repeat visitors.
