JR Tokai has announced that due to the approach of Typhoon No. 7, trains between Tokyo and Nagoya Stations will be cancelled all day on August 16. All trains between Nagoya and Shin-Osaka will also be cancelled all day, but two extra trains per hour will be operated on the Kodama-go (all seats in standard carriages are unreserved).
The U-turn rush during the Bon vacation will be directly hit, and an additional extra train (all seats reserved) will be operated on the 15th.

Nozomi No. 441: Departure from Tokyo Station at 17:51 (to Shin-Osaka)
Nozomi No. 455: Departs Tokyo Station at 18:54 (bound for Shin-Osaka)
Nozomi No. 465: Departs Tokyo Station at 19:42 (bound for Shin-Osaka)
The company also cautions that operations on the 17th may be significantly delayed or cancelled from the first departure due to equipment inspections and other conditions after the typhoon passes. The company will offer refunds without charge to passengers who cancel their trips due to Typhoon No. 7.
East Japan Railway Company (JR East) is also calling for attention to the possibility of significant delays and cancellations from around noon on the 16th.
