Name: ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Grand Court Nagoya
Location: 1-1-1 Kanayama-cho, Naka-ku, Nagoya-shi, Aichi
–How did you come to work at the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Grand Court Nagoya?
I started my hotel career at the Royal Park Hotel in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, but since I am originally from Nagoya, I returned to this area when the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Grand Court Nagoya opened in 1999. After serving as the general manager of the food and beverage department, the marketing planning department, the accommodation department, and the assistant general manager in charge of the entire hotel, I was appointed as the general manager in June 2024.
–What kind of hotel is it?
The ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Grand Court Nagoya is located in the heart of Nagoya, just a minute’s walk from Kanayama Sogo Station, which is served by JR, Meitetsu, and subway lines, and is one of the leading hotels in Nagoya, celebrating its 25th anniversary in April 2024. The hotel is highly regarded for its location, and is used not only by domestic business and leisure travelers, but also by many overseas guests due to its easy access from Centrair, the Central Japan International Airport. In addition, the hotel offers a variety of culinary experiences with 10 banquet halls of various sizes and 6 restaurants and bars that hold attractive fairs every two months.
All rooms offer the best night view in Nagoya, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your room. The best night view spot in the hotel is the counter of the “Bar Stargate” on the 30th floor, from which you can see the night view of the Port of Nagoya. If you are lucky, you may even be able to see the fireworks. Please come and experience it with a delicious drink.
–please let me know if you have any personal favorites tourist spots or restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.
Atsuta Jingu Shrine is located in the forest of Atsuta, a green sacred garden in the southern part of Nagoya City. The shrine enshrines the sacred Kusanagi Sword, one of the three sacred weapons, and has been revered by the Imperial Court and military commanders since ancient times.
Also, keep your eyes on “Ghibli Park,” which opened in 2022, with a new area opening in 2024, and many other new fun things to do. For guests with young children, “LEGOLAND Japan Resort” is also recommended.
In addition, the Osu Shopping Street, a staple of Nagoya sightseeing, offers sightseeing, eating out, and shopping, all in one place. It is a lively and attractive spot where festivals and events are held throughout the year.
–What restaurant menu do you recommend?
The Sky Restaurant “Stargate” on the upper floors offers French-based fusion cuisine, while the Chinese restaurant “Huali” offers authentic Cantonese cuisine with Nagoya’s most spectacular night view.
In addition, the casual dining “Garden Court” offers a buffet-style menu of approximately 40 different dishes, popular with groups and families.
–What souvenirs do you recommend?
The hotel sells original products made in collaboration with local companies. Popular items include the hotel’s collaboration with the Chunichi Dragons, featuring the team’s logo, and the Sencha and Hojicha sets made in collaboration with Myoko-en, a long-established tea store in Nagoya founded in 1916.
In addition, the “Hotel Original Bear” stuffed animal and “SDGs Recycle Coaster” are also available for purchase as a souvenir of your stay.
