Pokemon x Crafts Exhibition: Discovery of Beauty and Craftsmanship” will be held in Tokyo. Pikachu in Kimono Meet and Greet and Collaboration Café

Azabudai Hills Gallery (Azabudai Hills Garden Plaza A MBF, 5-8-1 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo) will hold the “Pokemon x Crafts Exhibition: Discovery of Beauty and Craftsmanship. The exhibition will run from November 1 to February 2, 2025.

In addition to the display and sale of Pokémon craft works by several artists, there will be talk events, meet-and-greets with Pikachu dressed in kimono, and tea ceremony events. To commemorate the exhibition, the first collaboration café “Cafe Pokémon x Craft Exhibition” will open.

Three tea experience events will be held on November 16, 24, and December 15 (capacity of 30 people per event). Visitors can learn about the Japanese tradition of matcha green tea and learn more about the artworks on display. The “Ticket with Tea Experience,” which includes “Pokemon Kyo-sweets” by Shichijo Ganshundo, matcha green tea, and a ticket to the exhibition, will be on sale from September 3 at 12:00 pm. The price is 3,500 yen for adults, college and university students, and 2,200 yen for high school students from 4 years old to senior high school students.

An artist talk event by the exhibiting artists will be held on December 3 (capacity of 30 people). Morihito Katsura, a living national treasure who created “Obidome Blackie” and other works, and Yasuichiro Yoshida, who created “Sanders” and other works, will take the stage to talk about the background of their exhibited works and their thoughts on their daily work. Pokemon kyogashi, soft drinks, and exhibition tickets are included. 3,000 yen for adults, college and university students, and 2,000 yen for high school students from 4 years old to senior high school students.

The free meet and greet with Pikachu in kimono will be held four times a day on November 9, December 7, and 8 (from 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.). Applications for the lottery will be accepted from 12:00 p.m. on September 3 to 11:59 p.m. on September 15, and the winners will be announced by e-mail on September 27 (an admission ticket to the exhibition is required separately).

The collaborative cafe “Cafe Pokémon x Craft Exhibition” offers a menu inspired by the exhibition works. In addition to special croque-monsieur (1,780 yen), go-me chirashi (1,780 yen), chestnut and oimono Pikachu waffle parfait (1,680 yen), Houou and Lugia’s black gomala latte (1,210 yen), Shaymin’s green tea latte (1,180 yen), special Pikachu latte (cafe latte/matcha latte, 990 yen each) The menu will be available for the first half of the event period. The menu differs between the first and second terms of the event.

Those who order the collaboration menu will receive a luncheon mat featuring the works of all the artists in the Pokemon x Crafts exhibition. There is also a retro logo in the center, inspired by a junsha (a traditional Japanese tea house).
