Bag brand Maison de FLEUR will launch a new collection on August 29 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the release of the Disney classic “Mary Poppins.
The Disney movie “Mary Poppins” was released in the United States in 1964. In this musical film, Mary Poppins, a “near-perfect” nanny, comes down to the mischievous Banks children and leads them to happiness.
The collection includes a bag inspired by Mary Poppins’ white and red dress and a pouch featuring the penguins from the film, as befitting the anniversary year.
The “tote bag” (8,800 yen) is inspired by the dress Mary Poppins wore in Bert’s chalk drawings. The ruffle design around the bust and red ribbon give it a glamorous look. The lining is made of pink and white striped fabric reminiscent of her favorite umbrella.
The “Square Tote Bag” (6,600 yen) features the phrase “PRACTICALLY PERFECT IN EVERYWAY,” which everyone uses to describe Mary Poppins, in a retro atmosphere. It also depicts a kite, a chimney, and an umbrella with Polly the parrot at the head as a point of reference.
Other items include an adorable “square pouch” (4,950 yen) with a bow tie and embroidery of a fan-favorite penguin waiter, and a pouch (4,200 yen) with a gold leaf print of the Banks family art, all filled with the world of the film.
