Aomori Scallops and Tuna Fair to be Held at Buffet Restaurants Aomori’s scallops are a familiar foodstuff to Aomori residents, with the prefecture ranking second in Japan in production and Aomori City first in consumption. Aomori residents are familiar with scallops, which are produced second in the prefecture and consumed first in Aomori City. Aomoriya and Hoshino Resort Oirase Keiryu Hotel will hold a fair to enjoy the sweet taste of scallops and fatty tuna, which is one of Aomori’s most popular food items. Aomoriya will offer six kinds of scallop dishes, including “Scallop and tuna marinated in garlic soy sauce,” “Scallops grilled on the grill,” and “Miso soup with young clams,” while Oirase Keiryu Hotel will serve “Tuna and apple salad,” “Tuna sushi,” “Tuna sashimi,” and other dishes unique to Aomori. The Oirase Keiryu Hotel will offer five types of dishes using tuna, including “Tuna and Apple Salad,” “Tuna Nigiri Sushi,” and “Tuna Sashimi.
