MICS 2024 in Tokyo, an open innovation and co-creation event between Mongolia and Japan, was held in Ichigaya, Tokyo, on August 5, 2024, MICS is a program that supports the co-creation of innovative solutions and collaborative efforts by a wide range of stakeholders from industry, government, and academia in Japan and Mongolia, bringing together technologies, ideas, and funds to solve social issues and achieve the SDGs.
On the day of the event, about 40 Mongolian participants and 100 Japanese participants gathered to hear pitches from Mongolian participants, exchange opinions, and network.
Ten collaborative projects will be selected for continued support of activities, with pitches also to be made at the Japan-Mongolia Business Forum (tentative title) to be held in Ulaanbaatar on Monday, August 19. The selected teams will receive mentoring and a partial subsidy for travel expenses from Japan to Mongolia from September 2024 to February 2025. In addition, JICA and the sponsor companies will provide partial support for implementation costs for collaborative projects with excellent initiatives. Through these activities, we will promote co-creation and collaboration to solve social issues and achieve the SDGs in Mongolia and Japan.
