The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has selected the following 12 projects for the newly adopted SATREPS (Science and Technology Research Program for Global Issues) for FY2022, based on the selection results of the external expert committee conducted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED). The following 12 projects were selected as new projects for the fiscal year 2022 under the International Science and Technology Cooperation Program for Global Issues (SATREPS).
SATREPS is a program supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and implemented in collaboration with JST, AMED, and JICA to promote science and technology cooperation and science and technology diplomacy with developing countries by linking Japan’s outstanding science and technology with ODA. The program aims to solve global issues such as the environment, carbon neutrality, bioresources, disaster prevention, and infectious diseases by acquiring new knowledge and technologies that will lead to solutions, creating innovations, improving the independent research and development capacity of developing countries, and building a sustainable framework for activities that will contribute to solving these issues. The goal of the program is to acquire new knowledge and technologies that will lead to solutions to global-scale issues.
We will hold discussions with the partner country to implement the project, and upon agreement on the details, the project will be implemented.
