The Hakone Tozan Cable Car and Hakone Ropeway operated by Odakyu Hakone will offer priority boarding on weekends and holidays in November. The dates are November 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24.
Since the demonstration test of this system was well received during the Golden Week holidays in the fall of 2023 and 2024, the system will be put into full operation this fall with priority boarding gates based on the web reservation system. The system will be implemented during the Golden Week holidays and on weekends and holidays in November, when crowding is expected during the fall holiday season.
Hakone Tozan Cable Car will start accepting reservations on its website “Hakone Navi” from 2:00 p.m. on October 4. Reservations will be accepted at Gora Station, and those who make reservations will be given priority access to the boarding platform. The reservation is available for one of the regular passenger trains from Gora Station to Sounsan Station between 9:00 and 13:00. The number of passengers who can make reservations in advance is limited to the first 30 passengers per train.
Hakone Ropeway will accept reservations through its website “Hakone Navi” from 9:00 a.m. on October 18. Reservations will be accepted at Sounzan and Togendai Stations. The service is available from 10:00 to 15:00, and reservations can be made for a maximum of 120 persons in 15-minute increments.
