JAL will revamp its hands-on educational program “JAL STEAM SCHOOL” to include a factory tour starting October 19, and will hold the program on a regular basis.
The fee is 1,500 yen, and the program is limited to 20 participants, ranging from first grade elementary school students to adults. The first event will be held on October 19, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:20 p.m., but reservations have already been made. Future dates and reservations will be posted on the “JAL SKY MUSEUM” website.
The program, which teaches the forces and shapes required for an airplane to fly, has been updated to include more patterns of possible flight characteristics, including not only the shape and position of the wings, but also options such as wind direction relative to the airplane, cargo loading position, and engine size.
In addition, after the “JAL STEAM SCHOOL,” a factory tour to see the actual aircraft maintenance site is included in the package. After the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion and a “PAPER AIRPLANE” that they can assemble and enjoy.
