The press tour will last two days and one night, and the weather forecast is for clear skies during the stay, but it depends on cloud conditions whether Mt. Fuji. How is the reporter’s luck?

Fuji campaign,” JR Tokai is offering travel plans to enjoy Mt. Fuji in autumn and winter from September 27 to March 31, 2025 through “EX Tabi Destination Reservation” and “EX Tabi Pack”.

Enjoy gourmet food and soothing hot springs at the Awashima Hotel, a resort hotel on the uninhabited island of Awashima, while viewing Mt.

The last stop on the first day of the tour was the “Awashima Hotel” where we stayed. This hotel is located on Awashima, an uninhabited island in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, next to Awashima Marine Park.

A unique feature of the hotel is how it is accessed: from Mishima Station on the JR Tokaido Shinkansen line, a shuttle bus takes you to Awashima Pier, and from the pier it takes about 5 minutes to cross to Awashima by boat. The shuttle boat runs approximately every 15 minutes and is free of charge.

The hotel has a total of 60 guest rooms, including five standard types with a choice of Japanese or Western-style rooms and six high-grade types. Because the island is uninhabited, all rooms have ocean views. In addition, all rooms, even standard rooms, feature a living room.

The plan allows guests to stay in a standard room, with rates ranging from 26,950 yen to 37,950 yen with dinner, and from 21,450 yen to 32,450 yen with buffet breakfast. Dinner can be French or Japanese. All prices are for one adult in a double occupancy room.

The room this reporter stayed in this time was a corner room on the fourth floor, a little larger than the standard “Ocean View Suite” and a “Deluxe Suite” with a terrace in the bedroom. The door is auto-locked, but the key is inserted into the lock, and I personally quite liked this retro style.

Upon entering the guest room, the first thing you will see is a spacious bathroom, with a toilet, a washing area, and a bathtub. From the bathroom, if conditions are good, one can view Mt. There is also a living room with a sofa, chairs, and table. There is also a TV in front of the sofa, and a bar corner with a kettle, teapot, and tea leaves. In addition, locally produced craft beer and Fuji cider made from Mt. Fuji subterranean water are included in the refrigerator as a bonus, and can be enjoyed while enjoying the view of Mt.

The bedroom has two beds, a couch in front of the balcony, and a TV. The closet is spacious, and loungewear is provided. You can also go to the public bath in this room wear.

The hotel has a large public bathhouse with indoor and outdoor baths, and uses natural hot spring water that has been assembled from 1,000 meters underground. Of course, the open-air baths also offer a view of Mt. Fuji from the open-air baths. The distance from the ocean is quite close, and fishing boats sometimes pass right in front of the baths, so the women’s open-air baths can be used with a towel wrapped around your body.

There is a hair dryer, bath towels, and face towels in the changing rooms, so there is no need to bring towels from your room or hang used towels inside to dry for use in the morning bath the next day. It is also nice that the baths are available from 6:00 to 10:00 and from 14:30 to 23:00.

The regular plan offers a choice of French or Japanese cuisine, but for the press tour, we were treated to French cuisine using local ingredients.
