Posted on 2024-11-192024-12-04 by Editor in Chief

East Japan Railway Company, DXC Technology Japan, Hitachi, Ltd. The period is from late November to December 27.

Cameras are installed near cab stands at Tokyo Station Yaesu Exit, Tokyo Station Marunouchi North Exit, Shinagawa Station Konan Exit, and Shinbashi Station Shiodome Exit to acquire and analyze data, and provide information on congestion at cab stands on the “NAVITIME” application (Android/iOS versions). This will help users to change their action plans to get to their destinations, and to verify the easing of congestion at cab stands.

In the NAVITIME application, when the destination is a station subject to the demonstration experiment or when the route includes a cab, you can check information on cab stand congestion at that station from the “Taxi Stand Congestion” button on the route search results. You can also check congestion information from the location information screen of the target station or cab stand. When the service is launched, it will be announced on SNS and other social networking sites.

Similar demonstration experiments have been conducted at the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station (FY2021) and the Takanawa Exit of Shinagawa Station (FY2022), and more than 80% of both customers and cab operators have expressed a desire to use the application, which provides information on congestion at the cab stands in front of the stations. The need for the application to be used at other stations was also confirmed by more than 80% of users and taxi operators, leading to the decision to conduct this verification experiment. Based on the results, the company will consider future social implementation.
