JR West will begin operating the Sanyo Shinkansen in the spring of 2025 with originally designed trains that express the world of “ONE PIECE” written by Eiichiro Oda.
Under the concept of “Now, to the Grand Rail,” a total of three trains will be introduced to promote the attractions of the areas along the Sanyo Shinkansen Line (Shin-Osaka to Hakata), starting and finishing in the Kansai region.
The first train is the “Setouchi Blue”. The exterior of the train is decorated with a sea-inspired blue color and illustrations of many “ONE PIECE” characters, especially the Straw Hat gang, under the theme of “Journey to Setouchi,” and the interior has an original design. The second and third trains will also be operated in sequence, each with a different design.
In addition, contents utilizing the station space, sales of original goods, and plans linking Sanyo Shinkansen travel with the world of “ONE PIECE” will be developed. For details, please check the special site.
