IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with The Windsor Hotel Toya Resort & Spa (336 Shimizu, Toyako-machi, Abuta-gun, Hokkaido) in its newest luxury and lifestyle brand, Vignette Collection.
The Vignette Collection is IHG’s brand that respects the local culture of the area and offers unique experiences. This will be the second hotel in Japan following Rihga Royal Hotel Osaka.
The Windsor Hotel Toya Resort & Spa is owned by Meikai Group. Located at the top of the mountain, it is the only hotel with a panoramic view of Lake Toya, a volcanic caldera lake in the Shikotsu-Toya National Park, and the Pacific Ocean.
The hotel will have a total of 386 guest rooms, and ancillary facilities include eight meeting rooms, nine restaurants, three stores, a wedding chapel, a gym, a salon, and a hot spring bathhouse. The hotel is scheduled to become “The Windsor Hotel Toya Vignette Collection” within a few months.
In conjunction with the agreement, Mr. Abhijay Sandilia, Managing Director of IHG Hotels & Resorts Japan & Micronesia and CEO of IHG-ANA Hotels Group Japan, made the following comments.
We are delighted to welcome The Windsor Hotel Toya Resort & Spa to the IHG Group of Hotels. This membership will strengthen our presence in Hokkaido and further enhance the reputation of the Vignette Collection, which embodies luxury in a different way, with its own unique character and outlook.
We are confident that The Windsor Hotel Toya Vignette Collection will perform even stronger and attract new guests by joining IHG’s robust global system and ‘IHG One Rewards’, the world’s largest loyalty program.
IHG currently operates three ANA Crowne Plaza Hotels in Sapporo, Kushiro, and Chitose, and an ANA Holiday Inn Sapporo Susukino in Hokkaido. In 2025, the company plans to open its first international brand luxury hotel in Sapporo, the InterContinental Sapporo.
