Cathay Pacific will fully introduce the Boeing 777-300ER (77J), which has been redesigned in all cabin classes, on its worldwide routes, including Japan, from 2025. The airline plans to upgrade 30 long-haul 77Js used on routes to Europe, Oceania, and North America by 2027, and depending on the fleet’s availability, will use them on medium-haul routes such as the Narita to Hong Kong route and other short-haul routes. Prior to this, test flights were conducted on the Narita – Hong Kong route throughout December. The upgraded Boeing 777-300ER (77J) will have 361 seats in three classes: 268 seats in Economy Class, 48 seats in Premium Economy Class, which offers a higher level of comfort and functionality than Economy Class, and 45 seats in Business Class (Aria Suite), Cathay’s first private cabin with a door. The flight time was 10:30 a.m. to Hong Kong. I boarded CX520, departing Hong Kong (10:30) and arriving at Narita (15:35), to experience the renewed Premium Economy Class.
