On December 11, Uber Japan launched “Uber Teens,” a service that allows children between the ages of 13 and 17 to hail cabs under parental supervision.
Uber Teens allows parents to track their children’s rides to and from school in real time, and also features a new automatic recording function and PIN setting function, allowing parents to manage their children’s taxi rides. The new system also features automatic recording and PIN setting functions, allowing children to dispatch and use cabs under the supervision of their parents or guardians.
At the time of introduction, the service area covers 11 prefectures: Hokkaido, Aomori, Miyagi, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Ishikawa, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Okinawa.
