Amazon (Amazon Japan) launched “Amazon Furusato Tax Payment” on December 19.
This service allows users to select local governments, tax returns, and other items to donate on Amazon’s website and pay their hometown taxes just as they normally do when shopping. Starting today, the service will be available in phases, starting with some users.
Amazon Furusato Tax is characterized by the fact that it can be used similarly to the regular Amazon service, with some items being available as early as the next day, and the date and time of receipt being specified.
As an example of specific gifts to be returned, a concert to support reconstruction in Nanao City and Noto Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, which were damaged by the Noto Peninsula earthquake and heavy rain, is planned, and artists will be invited to this event by utilizing the know-how cultivated through Amazon Music. In addition, Hasami Town in Nagasaki Prefecture will provide Hasamiyaki mugs with the Amazon logo, and Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture will provide Anchor limited design mobile batteries.
