JR West will increase the number of “Mahoroba” limited express trains operating between Osaka and Nara from one to two round trips per day to coincide with the Osaka-Kansai Expo. The train will operate on Saturdays and holidays between March 15 and October 13, with renewed trains starting on April 5.
*”Mahoroba” will operate on weekends and holidays from March 1, regular trains from March 15 *”Mahoroba No. 92/91″ are extra trains.

Until March 30, 2025: Series 287 3-car trains
From April 5, 2025: Series 683 3-car renewal train
All seats are reserved, and the limited express fares are 1,290 yen from Osaka/Shin-Osaka to Horyuji and 1,730 yen from Osaka/Shin-Osaka to Nara (per adult, reserved seat in a standard car, regular season). A separate ticket is required to board the train.
The “e5489” online reservation service will sell the economical “Mahoroba Ticketless Limited Express Ticket. The fares are 640 yen for Osaka/Shin-Osaka – Horyuji and 860 yen for Osaka/Shin-Osaka – Nara (one adult, reserved seat in a standard car, regular season).
