KDDI launches “Ferry Wi-Fi” service by Starlink on Tokyo-Kyushu Ferry Hamayu, free of charge for au users.

On January 22, KDDI and Wire and Wireless launched “Ferry Wi-Fi,” an onboard Wi-Fi service via satellite broadband Starlink.

The service will be offered for a limited time on the “Hamayu” ferry operated by Tokyo Kyushu Ferry between Tokyo and Kyushu, and will be expanded gradually as the company monitors usage.

Starlink provides a bandwidth of up to 220 Mbps on board, and the fee is 1,500 yen for 24 hours, but free for au users.
