Hilton Tokyo Odaiba (1-9-1 Daiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo) will hold “Versailles Special Afternoon Tea” at its 2nd floor restaurant, Grillogy Bar & Grill. The price is 7,800 yen per person. The event will be held from February 14 to March 21. Reservations must be made in advance (120 minutes) and will be accepted on the official website at 12:00 p.m. on January 29, 2012.
This afternoon tea commemorates the animated film version of the immortal masterpiece “The Rose of Versailles,” which opens in theaters on January 31. Guests can enjoy gorgeous sweets inspired by the world of the work, such as rose cake, strawberry puffs, tarts with motifs of the characters, and baked sweets decorated with ribbons and tiaras.
Other dishes include a savory menu reminiscent of a palace meal, with ingredients such as foie gras and lobster, as well as coffee and tea with free refills. In addition, all afternoon tea guests will receive a leaflet and a paper luncheon mat each.
Original goods such as acrylic key chains and satin drawstrings will be sold at the venue. Each item will also be available at the online store (sales period: February 14, 12:00 – March 21, 23:59; delivery is scheduled for mid-May).
