Oriental Land concluded a basic agreement with NYK and Yusen Cruises for a business alliance in the cruise business related to the Disney cruise scheduled to begin service in 2028.
The three companies will study the “cruise business consulting” and “ship management and operation management of cruise ships” to be conducted by the NYK Group for Oriental Land’s cruise business.
Oriental Land and NYK Group will combine the Oriental Land Group’s experience in creating extraordinary spaces and high level of hospitality cultivated through the operation of theme parks and hotels, and the NYK Group’s operational experience and high safety technology accumulated through cargo transport and Asuka cruise operations, Oriental Land will promote efforts to realize its goal of “family entertainment cruises.
Disney Cruises plans to begin building the ship in fiscal year 2025, with the aim of putting it into service in fiscal year 2028. The 140,000-ton luxury cruise ship will be based at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal. It will mainly operate on short-term routes.
