JAL will begin domestic flight service on March 3 with the “JAL Gundam JET,” a flight designed for the Osaka-Kansai Expo. The flight is scheduled to operate until around November.
The aircraft used is a Boeing 737-800 (registration number: JA342J). The design is a collaboration with “GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION,” a private pavilion that NAMCO BANDAI Holdings will exhibit at the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
In addition to the Gundam that appears in the pavilion’s video, the aircraft will feature the official Expo character “Myakmyak. In addition, from early April, the headless covers on the aircraft will be changed to special specifications.
Furthermore, during the Expo, restaurant buses with a design similar to that of Gundam JET will be operated throughout Japan. The “In-Flight Sales at Home” service will offer original goods such as Gundam plastic models.
JALPAC will also release a dynamic package in March that includes airfare to the Kansai region, accommodations, and a limited edition Gunpla. Details will be announced on a special website at a later date.
