JINS will release “JINS x TAKAGI TAKUYA” eyewear collection supervised by Takuya Takagi, a beautician and representative of OCEAN TOKYO, on February 26. Priced at 14,900 yen each (including the cost of standard clear lenses).
Mr. Takagi, a hair professional, calculated the balance with the hair style and jointly developed the glasses with JINS from a new perspective of “glasses x hair”.
For this collaboration, a total of four models and eight types of glasses are available to choose from according to the impression you want to create. The designs are based on the four themes of “sweet,” “sexy,” “fresh,” and “wild,” and are said to bring out the best in each of them.
The “sweet” model has a slender metal rim to balance the voluminous mash hair. While taking advantage of the overall roundness, the lenses have a rounded base, the brow is finished in a straight line, and the center of the bridge is angled. The lens does not interfere with the bangs, creating a clean look.
The “sexy” glasses have rounded lens shapes. They are said to blend in with gently curved bangs that ooze sex appeal in the flow of hair. The bridge is made of a sharp metal material, and the rims on both sides are angled to create a point in the center of the face to balance with the spreading hair. The temples are finished in metal.
The “Refreshing” model wears black-rimmed spectacles. The voluminous black-rimmed glasses tighten the face line exposed by the upswept bangs. The rim line and decorative parts are angled at the top and bottom of the eyebrows. The voluminous yoroi (back) fills in the space at the temples, enhancing the effect of a small face.
Wild” is a pair of glasses with thermont frames that enhance the wild impression at the bottom. The brow acts like a thick eyebrow, which emphasizes the wild style and makes the face look sharp. The sharp lines with angles at the top and bottom of the eyebrows and the decorative parts on the yoloi are also distinctive features. The thicker temples, with their widths varying widely, have the effect of making the profile more striking.
The eyeglass case is a stylish all-black design. The inside is engraved with the logo written by Mr. Takagi himself, which was written especially for this collaboration. The original serito is a paisley pattern with a scissors mark added as an accent. In addition, Mr. Takagi has also created key visuals styled to match the theme of each pair of glasses.
