JAL and JALUX launched the “JAL STAR PASSPORT,” which allows passengers to visit space-related facilities throughout Japan and collect “space seals.
As the first step in JAL’s space transportation challenge, this product is designed to resemble a passport, the gateway to space. The price is 3800 yen. It measures 12 x 17 x 2 cm (W x H x D) and can store 40 space passports in a pocket-type sleeve.
The Space Seal is sold at space-related facilities around Japan for 800 yen. The stamps are designed to resemble the stamps that are stamped on passports when entering or leaving Japan, and feature a motif of each facility, as well as the date of the facility visit in the “DATE” column.
In addition, by entering this product and the serial number of each space certificate stamp into the dedicated website and applying for the prize, a total of 300 winners will be selected in a drawing to actually send a special passport with their name on it to the International Space Station and receive a page with their name stamped at the station as a gift upon their return.
