SATREPS: Supporting the Development of a Circular Economy by Developing Alternative Materials to Plastic from Agricultural Waste | News & PR

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Record of Discussions (R/D) with the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on February 28, 2009, in Cairo, the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the SATREPS project “Establishing a Circular Economy Based on the Production of Plastic Alternative Materials Using Agricultural Waste. Business Objectives

This project aims to develop alternative materials to plastics using agricultural waste in Egypt, propose a system design and optimal scenario for the manufacturing process, conduct an economic evaluation, and make proposals/policy recommendations for their introduction into the manufacturing industry, thereby contributing to the creation of a circular economy in Africa through the distribution of alternative materials and products and the creation of employment opportunities. The project will contribute to the establishment of a circular economy in Africa through the distribution of alternative materials and products and the creation of employment opportunities.
