A 10-minute walk from Hankyu Juso Station. The Juso boat landing is quite convenient! By April, when the Kansai-Osaka Expo opens, it will be possible to open a route between Fushimi Pier in Kyoto (about 1 km from Chushojima Station on the Keihan Railway) and Juso Pier. However, a regular route from Fushimi Pier to the Expo site, including transfers, would take about eight hours, so there are no plans at this time to open a regular route. Also, due to navigational safety issues, the boat from Fushimi, Kyoto to the Expo site will change trains at the Juso Pier. The Juso Ferry Pier and the surrounding Juso Kawamachi area will be lined with BBQ facilities and food stalls to attract inbound visitors, and nature classes for children will be held to create a bustling atmosphere. A route from the city’s Dojimahama boat pier to the Expo site is also planned. Although each of these routes will take longer than the train or bus, Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura says, “We want to make it a route to enjoy the waterfront,” and boats will provide a means of transportation that allows visitors to experience the openness and fresh air that only boats can offer.
