On April 13, the Osaka-Kansai Expo (EXPO 2025) will open in Yumeshima, Osaka. Here we report on scenes from the media day held prior to the opening of the Expo.

The Japanese Red Cross Society’s “International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement” pavilion, with the exhibition slogan “It is Human Beings Who Save Human Beings. the pavilion is designed to convey the current situation of humanitarian crises caused by conflicts and disasters that are frequently occurring in countries around the world.

Inside the pavilion, which is divided into three zones, visitors can spend approximately 30 minutes experiencing the world of the Red Cross. In the main theater in Zone 2, visitors can experience approximately 10 minutes of video content in a dome theater.

After exiting Zone 3, a store selling Red Cross merchandise and other goods is located in front of the exit. In addition to the Red Cross’s original goods for the Osaka-Kansai Expo, the shop will also sell goods commemorating the 80th anniversary of Moomin, which has a collaborative relationship with the Red Cross.

The Moomin collection “Home at Last,” whose first products were launched in March exclusively in Japan, will donate one euro to the Red Cross for every item sold from the collection to support the humanitarian work of the Red Cross.

From May 5 to 9, an event with Moomin Arabia, one of the Red Cross’s humanitarian aid partners, will be held at Gallery West, a multipurpose exhibition space where various exhibitions, events, and hands-on programs will be held. Moomin Arabia, one of the Red Cross’s humanitarian aid partners, will hold an event with Moomin Arabia, a Japan-exclusive Moomin collection, on display and for sale.
