Of the 13 new ambassadors, 6 are from J-AIR, and 11 are continuing from the previous year, making a total of 24 ambassadors in 21 regions, the largest number ever.
There are also JAL Furusato Ambassadors GLOBAL, who are assigned by the crew of overseas bases, and two are currently assigned from Taiwan and Thailand, bringing the total number of ambassadors to 26.
We interviewed Ms. Shiina Kazuki of the Nagasaki Branch and Mr. Yuki Nakamura of the Kyoto Branch, two of the 13 newly appointed staff members.
Ms. Kazuki is a member of J-AIR and will join the Ambassadors this year. I wanted to be of service to the people of the region.” He also expressed his vision for the future, saying, “With population decline becoming an issue, I want to work to help as many people as possible feel the charm and warmth of the region and its connections with people.
On the other hand, Mr. Nakamura said, “I would like to make efforts to bring my favorite hometown, Kyoto, and JAL and our customers closer together. I used to be a member of the Hometown Support Group, and when I released a YouTube video introducing dishes using local ingredients, I met a customer on the plane who said he visited Kyoto because he saw the video,” he said. I like traditional crafts and learn about history, traditions, and culture through listening to stories and experiencing them, so I would like to communicate the charms of the region through these experiences.
