On April 15, APA Group announced plans for a large-scale hotel development in front of Hirose-dori Station in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.
The 14-story building will have a total of 343 guest rooms and a large public bath, and will be constructed on a site (2-2-5 Honmachi, Aoba-ku, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) facing Hirose Street, a 1-minute walk from Hirose Street subway station and a 6-minute walk from Sendai Station on the JR and municipal subway lines. Once completed, the building will be operated by APA Hotel as “APA Hotel Sendai Hirose-dori Ekimae,” and is scheduled to open in December 2028.
Hirose-dori is located near the “Chris Road” shopping street, which is also the main street of the Sendai Tanabata Festival, a summer festival, and is also the entrance to Kokubuncho, the largest shopping district in Tohoku, so the project was planned with both business and tourist use in mind.
The existing APA Hotels in Sendai include “APA Hotel Sendai Eki-Gobashi” (610 rooms with large bath), “APA Hotel Sendai Kotodai Koen” (97 rooms), and “APA Hotel TKP Sendai Ekikita” (306 rooms), and including this project, there will be 4 buildings with 1356 rooms.
