On June 5, MOL Cruises announced that the Nippon Maru will retire on May 10, 2026. The cruise returning to Yokohama on the same day will be the last one.
The Nippon Maru was launched in 1990, and since then, it has conducted more than 2,000 cruises, covering approximately 133 circumnavigations of the globe (533,383.964 km). The ship has called at more than 400 ports in Japan and abroad, and 600,000 passengers have boarded the ship.
Itineraries and events for February 2026 and beyond will be announced as they become available. The April and May cruises will feature special dinners featuring seasonal ingredients from ports of call associated with the cruise and gifts to express gratitude.
