JR East to Temporarily Expand Midori-no-Madoguchi (Midori no Madoguchi) at 50 Stations. Responding to congestion such as advance sales of reserved-seat limited express tickets during the Bon Festival.

Posted on 2025-07-032025-07-03 by Editor in Chief

JR East will open a series of temporary ticket counters starting in early July to handle anticipated congestion at the Midori-no Madoguchi (ticket counter) during the summer peak season, including the Obon holiday season.

At five stations (Kawaguchi, Kita-Asaka, Minami-Koshigaya, Kawagoe, and Kuki), where “talking reserved-seat ticket machines” are available during normal periods, temporary “Midori-no Madoguchi” will be opened on days when heavy use is expected.

In addition, at 45 stations in the Kanto, Tohoku, and Shinetsu areas, the number of “Midori-no Madoguchi” counters will be increased on days and times when heavy use is expected. In addition, employees will provide more information on reserved-seat ticket vending machines, etc. during busy times.

For the opening hours of each station, please check the information posted at each station or on JR East’s station information page.
