Tobu Railway will operate a special night train, “Nikko Autumn Leaves Night Train,” between Asakusa and Tobu Nikko Stations. The train departs from Asakusa Station to Nikko Station late at night to avoid congestion on the roads, while allowing passengers to enjoy the colorful autumn leaves of Oku-Nikko from early morning.
The train departs from Asakusa Station at 23:45 and arrives at Tobu Nikko Station at 2:16. On the way, passengers can also board the train from Kita-Senju, Shin-Koshigaya, and Kasukabe stations. After arriving at Tobu Nikko Station, passengers can stay on the bus until around 4:20 p.m., when it will connect to the bus bound for Chuzenji/Yumoto Onsen, which departs at 4:30 p.m.
The “Train Plan” includes only a train ticket and a limited express ticket, the “One-way Outbound Plan” includes a one-way bus ticket to Yumoto Onsen, and the “Round Trip Plan” includes a return train ticket from Tobu Nikko Station and a two-day valid “Yumoto Onsen Free Pass. The special offers include discounts at the Nikko Nature Museum, Chuzenji Lake cruise ship, and Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel (a stand-by hot spring).
Prices vary depending on the departure date. For departures from Asakusa Station, the “Train Plan” starts from 4,600 yen, the “One-way Outbound Plan” from 5,600 yen, and the “Round Trip Plan” from 7,800 yen. Available until 5:00 p.m. on Friday of the week of departure.
The train consists of three 500 Series “Liberty” cars equipped with free Wi-Fi and power outlets, and has a capacity for 92 passengers. For an additional 1,000 yen for each plan, passengers can choose to use two seats side by side by themselves as part of the “Spacious Two-Seat Plan.
