JR East, JR Tokai, JR West, and JR Kyushu have agreed to link their railroad online reservation services to improve user convenience.
The service covers “Ekinet”, “EX Service”, “e5489”, and “JR Kyushu Internet Train Reservation Service”. Since Ekinet handles JR Hokkaido trains and e5489 also handles JR Shikoku trains, the reservation services of the six JR companies are effectively linked.
As specific initiatives, the company will provide a function that allows users to log in to one service without having to log in again to other services (single sign-on/SSO), and a function that displays reservation information for other services on one service. Both of these functions can be used by registering as a member of each service in advance and operating the linked services.
First, a service that allows users to log in to e5489 with an EX Service ID will be launched on October 4, and by the end of FY2026, users will be able to confirm reservations and other information with both services. Linkage with other services, such as Ekinet, will begin in FY2027 or later as soon as it is ready.
