Seiko Watch will release two types of wall clocks with a pendulum in collaboration with Disney’s “Steamboat Willie” on November 18 in limited quantities. Both clocks are priced at 55,000 yen.
Steamboat Willie is Mickey Mouse’s screen debut, released on November 18, 1928. The collaborative model to be released this time is based on the theme of “What if Disney and Seiko had met at the time Mickey Mouse made his debut? The theme is “What if Mickey Mouse and Seiko had met at the time of Mickey Mouse’s debut?
The octagonal tailor-made wall clock manufactured by Seikosha at the time of the movie’s release was used as the basis for the design. A retro Mickey Mouse was used for the clock face, and the motif of the hour and minute hands was the shape of Mickey Mouse’s hands at the time.
The pendulum has an illustration of a steamboat on the body to give a sense of the world of the movie. In addition, the retractable glass door leading to the pendulum on the front is decorated with Seikosha’s trademark “Marukaku S mark,” and on the side is a plate certifying the limited-quantity model and a rolled key-style ornament in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s head. The ornament is removable, a playful gimmick that makes you want to touch it.
It has a built-in speaker and plays the time signal of “Steamboat Willie” used in the movie every hour and the steamboat whistle every 15 minutes.
The two designs, the FS805B, limited to 300 units, and the FS806B, limited to 200 units from the Seiko Clock Online Store, each have a different frame color and Mickey Mouse on the dial; the FS805B has a dark brown wooden frame with a laughing face, while the FS806B FS806B has a light brown wooden frame with a whistling Mickey Mouse.
