Jetstar Japan unveiled its state-of-the-art Airbus A321LR aircraft at Narita Airport on June 12.
The A321LR is a medium- to long-range aircraft with a range of approximately 3,000 to 5,500 kilometers while achieving low fuel consumption by installing a new engine and additional fuel tanks.
The exterior features a new design that incorporates the corporate color orange rising up from the lower fuselage to the tail, and the Jetstar logo (Jet☆) on the sharklet at the tip of the main wings.
Although the cabin was not shown to the public this time, it has new specifications with mobile device holders and USB charging ports in almost all seats, and Recaro BL3710 seats. All 238 seats are economy class.
The A321LR will operate up to six flights per day on the Narita-Shin-Chitose (Sapporo) and Narita-Fukuoka routes starting July 1, with the second aircraft scheduled to be introduced within the year and the third in 2023.
Prior to the start of operations, Jetstar Japan will hold a commemorative flight on June 30, “First Ride Ebi Buddy! Commemorating Jetstar Japan’s 10th anniversary, “First flight to/from Narita on the new A321neo (LR)” will be held on June 30, prior to the start of commercial operations. Reservations for this program will be accepted until June 15, and if there are too many applicants, a lottery will be held.
