NEXCO Central Japan Nagoya Branch will complete the construction of additional parking spaces at Oyamada PA (off-road) on the Higashi-Meihan Expressway (E23) on June 20.
The entire parking area is congested due to a shortage of parking spaces for large vehicles, especially during late-night hours. In light of this situation, the company is expanding the number of parking spaces in SA/PAs.
In this construction, the existing site was effectively utilized to increase the parking area, and the layout was revised to add “dual-use spaces for regular and large vehicles” that can be used by both large and regular vehicles. The number of standard-sized vehicles was increased from 91 before to 141 after the construction (one double-use space is equivalent to two standard-sized vehicles), and the number of large-sized vehicles was increased from 45 before to 62 after the construction.
The PA will also continue to install lighting facilities in areas other than the parking area.
