Snow Peak has been approved as the prospective designated manager for the “Sekinoo Park Implementation Design and Management Operation Outsourcing Business,” for which Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture, has publicly solicited applications, and has signed a memorandum of understanding with the city. As a result, the company will open a directly managed camp field and store in 2024.
Miyakonojo City is located at the southwestern tip of Miyazaki Prefecture and has the second largest population in the prefecture after Miyazaki City. The city is blessed with magnificent and lush natural resources such as the Kirishima Mountain Range, and is home to the Sekinoo Waterfall, which is 40 meters wide and 18 meters high and was selected as one of the “100 Best Waterfalls in Japan,” and the Sekinoo Potholes, a unique landform formed by a volcanic eruption.
The Sekinoo Park, which is scheduled to be renovated in 2024, will feature a camp field where visitors can experience the ever-changing nature, as well as a Snow Peak-operated store and food and beverage facilities by local businesses.
