Czech Center Tokyo, Czech National Tourist Organization, DIVADEO, and P&M Czech will hold “Czech Festival 2022 in Tokyo,” one of the largest events in Japan to promote the charm of the Czech Republic. The 7th Czech Festival will be held in Shimokitazawa, a town where diverse cultures come and go, from September 30 to October 2.
The venues will be the commercial facility “reload” (3-19-20 Kitazawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo) and the multipurpose entertainment space “ADRIFT” (3-9-23 Kitazawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo), which opened in 2021 on Shimokita Line Road. At reload, which has a total of 24 sections lined with galleries and restaurants, accessories and character goods as well as Czech products such as toys and books will be sold in the “Entrance Hall” at the entrance and the “POPUP SPACE” in the center of the facility.
On the other hand, in the plaza in front of ADRIFT on the Tohokuzawa side, there will be a booth where visitors can taste Czech gourmet food. The booth will feature the most popular Czech beer, Pilsner Urquell, and The Premium Maltz made with Czech hops, as well as beer, wine, sausages, open sandwiches, stews, and other standard Czech food items. In addition, a stage inside ADRIFT will be set up for a program of Czech music concerts, mini Czech language classes, and talk shows on Czech history, culture, and tourism. The stage program is scheduled to be released in late August.
During the event, Lev Maru, the official mascot of the Czech Tourist Board, will make daily appearances to liven up the event.
