Kita Osaka Kyuko Railway Namboku Line extension (Senri Chuo Station – Minoh Kayano Station) to open at the end of FY2023

Hankyu Hanshin Holdings, Inc. announced that the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway Nanboku Line extension (Senri Chuo Station to Minoh Kayano Station) will open at the end of fiscal 2023.

The Kita Osaka Kyuko Railway Namboku Line Extension will extend the Kita Osaka Kyuko Railway Namboku Line, which runs from Esaka Station to Senri Chuo Station, approximately 2.5 km north of Senri Chuo Station, and add two new stations, Minoh Senba Han-dai-mae Station and Minoh Kayano Station. Minoh City and Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway, which is the main construction company, began construction in FY2016, and the tunnel between Minoh Senba Hankai-mae Station and Senri Chuo Station was penetrated at the end of May 2022.

Currently, the company is mainly engaged in track, electrical equipment, station building-related construction, and rolling stock manufacturing, and since these and other construction activities are progressing smoothly, the opening date is set for the end of fiscal year 2023.

Minoh City is also promoting urban development around the two new stations to be built on the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway Namboku Line extension. In the Senba East area around Minoh Senba Hankai-mae Station, construction has already been completed on the Minoh Municipal Cultural and Performing Arts Theater, which seats 1,401 people, and the Minoh Senba Library, which has a collection of 710,000 books and functions as a university library, in conjunction with the opening of the Osaka University Minoh Campus. In the future, the Minoh Municipal Hospital is scheduled to be relocated, the Kansai Sports Science and Health Care Center (tentative name) will serve as a base for extending healthy life expectancy, and high-rise condominiums will be built by a private enterprise.
