JR Kyushu Hotels Opens THE BLOSSOM KYOTO

Posted on 2022-08-262022-08-27 by Editor in Chief

JR Kyushu Hotels opened THE BLOSSOM KYOTO as the fourth hotel in its THE BLOSSOM series.

The hotel, whose concept is “softly connecting,” is located a five-minute walk from Gojo Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Line. The hotel has 180 guest rooms in 10 types. Many of the rooms are furnished with modern tatami mats, allowing guests to take off their shoes and relax. On the upper floors only, one junior suite type room, “Premium Twin” (3 rooms in total), is available on each floor.

After passing through the entrance, visitors will find a “Doriniwa” reminiscent of a traditional Kyoto townhouse. In the “Doriniwa,” visitors can enjoy the fragrance of traditional Kyoto incense carefully selected and prepared from the fragrances of Shoeido, a local incense shop, and listen to background music that is in harmony with the building’s setting, which is reminiscent of a traditional Kyoto machiya (townhouse).

Drinks will be served in the lobby as a welcome service between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. On the lobby floor, a communication space, “Ainomachi no Kura,” was also created by reusing the building materials of a warehouse that was once built on the hotel’s land and utilizing them in the design.

The first basement floor is a space exclusively for guests, and is equipped with a fitness gym as well as a large public bath. Tile mosaic art depicts “Sakura (cherry blossoms)” in the women’s bathroom and “Takebayashi no Michi (path of bamboo groves)” in the men’s bathroom. The windows look out over the tsuboniwa garden in the atrium. In the guest lounge on the same floor, guests can enjoy art works of Kyoto’s traditional crafts, such as “Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki,” “Kyo-embroidery,” and “Kirigane,” as well as a drink bar and snacks.

A full buffet breakfast featuring additive-free soft French sandwiches and dishes cooked at low temperatures is available at the all-day dining KYOTO GOJO ONO-Kyoto Gojo Ono. Breakfast can also be changed to a morning box.

Located at 140-2, Gojo-dori Higashinotoin Higashiiru Manjoji-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto.
