Emergency Relief Aid for Flood Damage in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan -Delivery of Donated Goods
Emergency relief supplies provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for flood damage in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have been delivered to the country.
The emergency relief supplies to be provided to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan arrived at Karachi International Airport on August 30, September 2, and September 4, in sequence, at 14:00 (local time) on September 3 at Karachi International Airport. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Toshiro Odagiri, Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Mr. Yasumitsu Kinoshita, Director of JICA Pakistan Office, and others from the Japanese side.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. Muhammad expressed his deep appreciation for Japan’s prompt support and stated that the supplies that arrived on August 30 were immediately delivered to the devastated areas in Balochistan Province. In response, Consul General Odagiri expressed his condolences for the flood damage and his hopes for the earliest possible recovery of the affected areas. Mr. Kinoshita stated that JICA will accelerate its efforts in the field of disaster prevention in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and support the Pakistani government’s recovery and reconstruction efforts.
