Fujikawaguchiko Town Tourism Federation will start cooperation in promoting “Fujikawaguchiko Town Hometown Tax Payment” in September to support the tourism industry in the entire Fuji Hokuroku region, which has been depressed by the new coronavirus.
Fuji Kawaguchiko Town is home to Lake Kawaguchi, which is a component of the World Cultural Heritage Mt. The federation plans to promote the town to tourists through new PR using printed media such as tourism pamphlets and posters, and to contribute to the revitalization of tourism, a major local industry, by launching a “Furusato Tax Payment Promotion Committee (tentative name)” and proposing plans for returning accommodation tickets and other goods.
As a return gift, Fujikawaguchiko Town has also begun issuing “electronic appreciation coupons” that can be used for meals, lodging, experiences, and the purchase of local products within the town. The electronic points can be used only in the area of issue, and can be used by people outside the town who donated to Fujikawaguchiko Town using their hometown tax payment for shopping, eating and drinking at member stores set up by the town.
